The Roselli Hunting knife long is based on Roselli’s original Hunting knife design, first introduced in 1976 and refined through decades of real use in Finland’s forests and wilderness. Created with a minimalist and functional philosophy, it is built to perform reliably in demanding outdoor conditions.
The longer blade provides a versatile balance between control and cutting efficiency, making the knife especially well suited for hunting, camp tasks and general outdoor use. Compared to the standard Hunting knife, the added blade length enables longer, smoother cuts and a more natural working feel for many outdoor tasks.
Beyond hunting-related work, the knife performs equally well when preparing food at camp, trimming branches or handling everyday tasks around the fire. The additional blade length can also be advantageous when processing smaller firewood, where controlled force and longer cutting movement improve efficiency.
The blade is forged from premium carbon steel and hardened to approximately 60 HRC, offering excellent edge retention, toughness and easy resharpening in the field.
This version combines the longer Hunting knife blade with a dark stained curly birch handle, a distinctive detail usually reserved for Roselli’s UHC steel range. Introduced in a first handcrafted batch of 8 pieces, it represents a rare expression of traditional Roselli craftsmanship.
The handle is treated with linseed oil to ensure a secure and comfortable grip, even in wet or cold conditions. Each handle features unique natural variations in grain and texture.
The knife comes with a handcrafted sheath made from dark vegetable-tanned Finnish leather. The sheath includes Roselli’s signature metal spring mechanism, designed to keep the knife securely in place regardless of movement.
