My name is Taylan and I’m 31 years old. I live up in the Tennessee mountains with my wife, one year old little girl and another baby on the way! I work as a wild cave guide, and I take people exploring through caves and teach them about that environment, and other outdoor related subjects. Except for my outdoor interest, I’ve played the guitar since high school and I love music. And pizza!

Q&A with Taylan
There is only one you.
My family’s support definitely motivates me but also a thirst for knowledge.
If I was an animal it would be a Fox. I’d like to think I’m intelligent and cunning. But also a bit silly sometimes.
The most daring thing I’ve done I think is go up in an experimental airplane with an open cockpit and a snowmobile motor.
1. Kindness is contagious 2. Don’t be stingy with seasonings 3. Try to get a little sunlight everyday
I grew up hunting, fishing and camping with my grandfather. That’s why I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors. As I got older I really got into hiking and outdoor photography, and it’s from there I found my way into the bushcraft community. In my eyes I’ve already made it in life. I have a home, food to eat, a family, a good job and I’m part of an amazing bushcraft community on Instagram. What more could you ask for?
